Quick Simple Halloween Costumes

The time has come when we no longer need to follow the tradition of dressing up as witches, ghosts, or mummies.

Of course, at the Halloween-themed, party stores and discount stores, you’ll find the premade costumes of super hero or a characters from a movie. It easier than ever to create unique costumes without spending buckets of money. Some old clothes, some accessories, makeup and you’ll be able to create an amazing costume like no other.

Find an old white coat or shirt you can cut down the front middle. Add one or more of the following:

- real or toy stethoscope, a Red Cross on the front of the coat or shirt drawn with red marker or paint, a mustache and makeup. Search garage sales or thrift shops for an old doctor bag or something that looks like one. Grab a clipboard and a folder and you’ve just created a doctor or surgeon.

Or take that same white coat or shirt and become a mad scientist or even a nerd. Add a pocket protector, some pens, a pair of old glasses with tape wrapped around the nose piece and you are a good looking nerd. If you added a wig, with crazy hair you could become a mad scientist.

To become a princess, find an old formal gown at a local thrift store. Add dress shoes, a real or pretend tiara, fake jewelry, some beautiful makeup and you’ll have a beautiful princess.
It’s snap your fingers simple to create a hobo or bum “look” with some old ragged clothing. Sew on some patches, rip the clothing to make them looked even more worn. You could add some face paint to make it look like dirt and a bandana tied on a stick to make a hobo pack.
Without spending a fortune, you can create a simple and unique costume. Accessories dress up a costume up and make them look more original.

I do browse the Halloween stores, but only for ideas that I can easily replicate at home with my own items and my own ingenuity.
